Some 54.53 percent of Growers (approximately 95 percent of all votes cast) voted in favour of the extraordinary resolution. An application in the Victorian Supreme Court for orders in relation to the 2006 scheme is expected to be heard tomorrow

Gunns Limited today welcomed the approval of its proposal for its subsidiary, Gunns Plantations Ltd, to become the Responsible Entity for several Great Southern forestry managed investment schemes and to effect a restructure of those schemes (Proposal). Growers in eight schemes - 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 voted to accept Gunns' Proposal to manage the schemes, the current responsible entity of which is in receivership following Great Southern's insolvency earlier this year

at a creditors' meeting today credtors voted to liquidate 27 of Great Southern's 35 companies that were in administration - the future of the remaining eight companies was adjourned and will be dealt with at a round of meetings in Perth on December 3 - the liquidation of the companies does not affect the viability of the individual schemes (which are being dealt with by the receivers not the administrators) - three main groups are vying to acquire Great Southern's various forestry schemes: Pulpwood Plantations, headed by the West Australian businessman Gordon Martin and backed by the US hedge fund Och-Ziff Capital Management Group; Black Tree Group, headed by the Perth businessman John Poynton, the forester Tony Jack and the Bunnings family; and the timber company Gunns

IF Trees 2,3 holders and other subordinated creditors cannot get any distributions from liquidators or administrators,is it possible to sue them against the fire sale of assets or collection of the debts with big discounts by unsecured creditors?12/05/2015 16:06:53
